Pilot project work commences in 2022 - Food For Growth

At La Salle Hotel School, we are developing a self-financing hospitality training centre based in Croxteth which will feature a live trading restaurant and event venue business. Work has been ongoing in recent years to complete Phase 1, with a professional training kitchen and community kitchen garden now ready for full use by target beneficiaries in 2022. We will provide pre-further education age service users with a suite of NVQ-level vocational training programmes and authentic, hands-on industry experience this year in partnership with City of Liverpool College and Chef's Bay Recruitment.

Our core vision is to up-skill and ready them for further education, training or employment opportunities; ultimately providing quality career pathways into a growth sector of strategic importance, the Liverpool City Region Visitor Economy.

Our Plans

We formed a Community Interest Company, which is a not-for-profit social enterprise in 2019 and have been busy fundraising and developing the site to prepare to open up to the community and students.

We aim to deliver the full concept in a series of phases - with Phase 1 complete, we'll now move onto the ground floor restaurant, demonstration and private dining area and conference facility forming Phase 2 of the project. The final phase will be creating the first floor en-suite bedrooms in the future.
