Opening Soon for Service

Planning to open Phase One in 2021, the La Salle Hotel School will provide vocational training and employment opportunities in catering and hospitality at pre- and post-16 levels to local students, young people from around the city region and our neighbours of Croxteth and Norris Green. Based in the former De La Salle Brothers’ House in the grounds of the De La Salle Academy, when completed the training hotel school will be a fully functioning hotel with 13 bedrooms, restaurant and conference facilities, as well as a kitchen garden supplying both the hotel school and the local community.

Serving the Greatest

The La Salle Hotel School

With the aim of providing the next generation of hospitality professionals in the Liverpool City Region and beyond we have partnered with one of the best hospitality educational institutions in our area - Hugh Baird College in Sefton.

Our students will be given an unparalleled training so that they can enter on a career pathway that will include the greatest restaurants and hotels in the country. Aspiring to the highest quality of service will be what distinguish us from other providers.

Help us Grow

We’d like you to help us grow our project as we find ways to help our communities grow their skills and career prospects both inside and outside our building.
A unique aspect of our vision is the ‘plot to plate’ concept of utilising the grounds of the hotel school to grow food in the adjacent three polytunnels and raised beds of the kitchen garden.
Work is already underway to restore the kitchen gardens for community use and once the Covid crisis is over they will be fully opened to the local community so we can grow together the food we will use in our kitchens at home and on site.

About La Salle

We have long term plans to make a difference and having already secured the support of the Savoy Educational Trust for the refurbishment of the kitchen we hope to start using it in 2021 to benefit the local community before we open the restaurant to wider public use.

Because we have decided to place our project at the heart of the Visitor Economy for the Liverpool City Region all our bedrooms will be themed around landmarks from each of the region’s boroughs.

Provincial for Ireland, Great Britain and Malta, the De La Salle Brothers

I am delighted to be able to support the repurposing of the former Brother’s House in Liverpool to support students in one of the city’s most challenging neighbourhoods with the opportunity to commence hospitality education in a functioning hotel and restaurant. This is truly in the Lasallian tradition our Founder St John Baptist de La Salle who wrote ‘…the main concerns of those who instruct others is to be able to understand their students and to discern the right way to guide them.’[Med:33.1]

Please show your support financially where you can to help the Trustees of La Salle Hotel School refurbish this much-loved building for a new generation of users. I hope to be with you at the opening of this project; another exciting milestone in the history of De La Salle in Liverpool.”
